Mission

We provide high-quality genuine wood flooring solutions to Fremont County.

Values

We treat every floor like a work of art and aim to honor the rich history of historic wood floors in Wyoming.

Our Story

Welcome to No Cork Hardwoods, where we pay homage to a rich slice of Fremont County’s logging history. Cork boots (correctly spelled ‘caulk’) were designed with spiked soles to provide loggers with much-needed traction as they navigated through the logging slash.

Ironically, even though logging is the birthplace of wood flooring, in the past, the ‘corks’ were the bane of wooden floors. The spikes meant to grip rough surfaces inadvertently wreaked havoc on indoor surfaces. Not to mention that the boots were also sometimes used as a weapon during fist fights. That’s why it was common for bars and taverns to post signs proclaiming “no cork boots allowed” to protect their floors from damage.

At No Cork Hardwoods, our mission is to preserve the legacy of those hardier times. Join us as we journey back in time while crafting timeless hardwood floors for the modern age.

Why Choose Hardwood Floors?

The rich grains, textures, and hues of hardwood can complement various interior styles, from traditional to modern. Unlike carpets, hardwood floors are hypoallergenic, making them an ideal choice for those with allergies or sensitivities.

The smooth surface of hardwood floors does not trap dust, pet dander, or other allergens, making it easier to maintain a clean and healthy environment. Additionally, hardwood floors are durable and long-lasting, adding value to your home while providing a low-maintenance flooring solution that withstands the test of time.

How to Maintain Your Hardwood Floor

If you want to keep your hardwood floor looking beautiful and lasting, you must maintain it. Regular sweeping with a soft-bristled broom removes dirt, dust, and debris that can scratch the surface over time. Additionally, promptly cleaning up spills and liquids with a damp cloth helps prevent staining and water damage, preserving the integrity of the wood.

Avoid using harsh chemicals or excessive water when cleaning, as these can dull the finish or cause warping. Instead, opt for specially formulated hardwood floor cleaners or mild soap diluted in water for occasional deep cleaning.
